It's not ironic... it's LOVE. :-)

haven't been on here in a while. actually, i shouldn't be on here at all. i have finals next week and i should be studying...but it's way more fun to make a set about what i wore the other day. :) and it is nearly midnight, and if i were a reasonable person i would be getting some sleep right now because i have to be up at 7 tomorrow to catch a train up to the city with some friends.
 
it's raining right now. i'm going to france this summer. what does one wear during french summers?
 
finals are stressful, and lily does not like calculus. at all.

and lily is excited to wear her giant, oversized, chunky grandpa sweaters and riding boots and peacoats and scarves and fun hats and layers upon layers of warm fuzzy things <3

one of my aunts offered to take me shopping at the mall today, so i did some back-to-school shopping with the money i earned from babysitting last week. there were all these crazy good deals going on and the mall was packed. my little cousins came with us and ate pretzels and ice cream while we walked around. while we were there i bought...

and my mom also got me an essie nail polish in "buy me a cameo". it's a really pretty glazed pink with hints of gold in it, and it's especially amazing when the sun hits it. i'm wearing it on my fingers and toes right now. anyway most of the stuff in the set above is exact, except for the boots, which were a really good deal. the store i was at was having some kind of 50% off sale and those boots were more than $100 before, but i think i managed to get them for $50? anyway they're gorgeous :)
 
the dress is from pacsun and it has this criss cross pattern of straps on the back that is really, really pretty. it wasn't on sale, but i had a coupon so i was like "ehh what the heck". i picked up the rings on a whim.
 
also just finished the book "halo" by alexandra adornetto. it's about an angel who falls in love with a human. i highly recommend :) did you know the author wrote this when she was only 18? and she got her first book published when she was 14. huh.
 
i'm planning to wear that dress on the first day of school with a brown braided belt, some cognac sandals, and my favorite satchel. still haven't decided how i'm going to do my hair. hmm.

just came back from spending a week at my cousins' house. sometimes i go there to babysit during the summer. the town they live in is really small and pretty and nice, and everybody says hello to each other when they pass on the sidewalk. i wish my town was like that. we're kind of a small city so i guess it's not really the kind of place where you know everybody.
 
yesterday we went down to the park, the library, and then met up with my cousins' soon-to-be stepbrother (my aunt recently got engaged) at subway. then my soon-to-be stepcousin ate my sandwich.
 
om nom nom.
 
anyway it was a pretty fun day. i just got home and i've been away for a week so it's nice to be back. i'm going shopping tomorrow to find a new outfit for the first day of school. :)

wore this up to point reyes yesterday. it was freakinn cold up there! and i had to climb a 300-step staircase. it was insanee. and it was foggy. my brother was like, "i don't like it here, it's depressing". but i thought the fog was kinda pretty :)
 
just came back from my friend max's house. lily, y u so boring?! i feel like i never have anything interesting to say. max kept the entire conversation going, just talking about his recent breakups and his new girlfriend. man what happened to that kid. he's a player now. but me, i've had a boring summer. :/

just bought that jacket today at nordstroms. they didn't have it in my size, so i have to wait for them to ship it to me. going up to the mountains tomorrow, which is probably what inspired this set. this was also my first time using textures, but i think it turned out okay. still not as good as it could've been.

this morning, i woke up, and i swear that castle was on my mind.

i just bought that bag in the set from nordstroms. they have some good stuff this season.
 
for some reason, listening to jack johnson always makes me think of summer.
 
this outfit would be what i would wear to a bonfire on the beach. summer, to me, is spending lazy days sitting on the beach playing my guitar, with a good book or two. and living in shorts and sandals and bare feet, and messy bedhead hair and cameras and stars.
